is ScareHouse closed?
I can sorta kinda answer this question with a firm response of … hopefully not?
The short version of the long story is that the parking situation at our beloved location in Etna remains impossible to solve - and the original ownership company behind ScareHouse was completely wiped out financially after making the unfortunate decision to trust the current ownership of Pittsburgh Mills mall in 2020 (multiple lawsuits and criminal investigations against Namdar Realty Group remain ongoing as I write this.)
After nearly 25 years of entertaining Pittsburgh fright fans I can say that ScareHouse, as a brand and concept, remains in good hands and there are efforts underway to bring it back to life in an entirely new form and new location … but there’s nothing definitive yet.
With the haunt on hiatus I decided to start NEEDS MORE FOG, my new experiential and media content production company, featuring a team of talented and trusted artists and producers from some of the country’s most popular haunted attractions, dark rides, escape rooms and immersive experiences.
