SHOCKTOBERFEST

We captured NEW and thrilling content for Pennsylvania's Premier Haunted Scream Park

Located in Sinking Spring, Pennsylvania, just minutes from Reading, Shocktoberfest has earned a national reputation as one of the most comprehensive and immersive scream park experiences in the United States. Since its debut in 1992, the event has grown from a regional haunt into a full-scale Halloween destination that draws tens of thousands of thrill seekers each fall from across the Mid-Atlantic and beyond.

Needs More Fog recently visited the Shocktoberfest campus to capture all-new video and imagery from their iconic hayride, “The Unknown” haunted attraction, and the truly massive “Prison of the Dead.” Look for new promos and other online content later this year!

Shocktoberfest: Reading, Pennsylvania's Premier Scream Park

Shocktoberfest is not a haunted house. It's a zombie world!

Spread across a sprawling outdoor campus, the park offers guests a multi-attraction experience that combines theatrical haunted walkthroughs, outdoor scare zones, escape rooms, and uniquely immersive entertainment that few Halloween events anywhere in the country can match. The scale and ambition of the production reflects decades of evolution and reinvestment — each season bringing updated scenery, new characters, and fresh horrors to environments that have become iconic to fans of the genre.

Among the park's most celebrated offerings is its roster of fully produced haunted attractions, each with a distinct theme and atmosphere — from claustrophobic indoor corridors packed with live performers to expansive outdoor trails that use darkness, sound design, and environmental storytelling to unsettle even seasoned haunt veterans. Shocktoberfest's production design reflects a genuine commitment to craft: this is not cardboard and strobe lights, but fully realized immersive environments built to pull guests into a living nightmare.

What truly sets Shocktoberfest apart is its breadth of experience. The park goes well beyond haunted walkthroughs, offering escape room challenges, midway entertainment, themed food and drinks, and an atmosphere that transforms the entire property into a Halloween event worth traveling for. It functions less like a haunted house and more like a dark theme park — one where every detail, from the ambient soundscapes to the costuming, has been considered.

Shocktoberfest typically operates on weekends throughout September and October, with select additional dates added for high-demand weekends. Advance tickets are strongly encouraged. The intensity of the experience — including darkness, physical environments, and close-quarters actor interactions — is best suited for teens and adults seeking genuine scares.

For haunted attraction fans in Pennsylvania and across the East Coast, Shocktoberfest remains one of the essential Halloween destinations in the country — a scream park that has earned its reputation not through hype, but through decades of dedication to the art of fear.

Stay tuned for the new Needs More Fog content coming online for Shocktoberfest later this season.

I also produce highly engaging content for ScareHouse and other haunted attraction's social media platforms, with our trailers and "behind the screams" videos generating over eight million views on YouTube.

Frequently asked to present at conferences and in media interviews about topics such as the booming "Scream Economy" and haunted attractions, immersive experience design, generative AI, digital content creation, and murderous bunnies with axes.
